TerraBlu went pink on Friday 31 October 2008, as part of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Head office staff, carers and even clients got involved with raising funds and awareness of Breast Cancer. Office staff and support workers traded in their uniforms for the day to wear pink. The company sold pink hygiene gloves, as an alternative to the standard gloves. Staff donated pink raffle prizes, from Pink Champagne to lace knickers. Tickets were sold to all head office visitors and one client, who heard how TerraBlu staff were getting involved, sent Elaine a donation. A total of £484 was raised for the charity.
TerraBlu has established links with the following local charities, where there is an alignment of objectives:
Tunbridge Wells Age Concern (TWAC)
TerraBlu has developed a relationship locally with Age Concern. With national expertise in commissioning and delivering care services, TWAC was commissioned – on a paid basis – to conduct the annual TerraBlu client survey. As a third party, the charity was able to get honest views from clients and provide the company with input for recommended areas for improvement and further development .
TerraBlu rents TWAC facilities for social events and is proud to be one of the sponsors for its minibus service. TerraBlu staff attend TWAC fundraising events.
Alzheimer's Society, West Kent
TerraBlu hosts the Tunbridge Wells monthly support group of the Alzheimer's Society at its offices, free of charge.
Carers First
TerraBlu is exploring co-hosting social events, in conjunction with Carers First, for partners and family members who care for a loved one.
