Support and Mentoring

Traditionally support workers have a vocational allegiance to their profession and the people for whom they care, but do not feel an especially strong tie to the company that they work for.

TerraBlu aims to counter this by creating a community and ethos of care, offering extensive support to both clients and carers.

Senior carers take on a mentoring role to the support workers in their teams. Out of office hours there is an ‘on call’ number for staff should problems arise and the weekly drop-in team meetings provide the opportunity to air any issues face to face.

Supervision sessions under the care co-ordinator take place on a three monthly basis. There’s a staff forum and a quarterly staff newsletter.

All of these support systems have been put in place to help constantly review the quality of life and working conditions for care staff. Feedback is encouraged on all issues to make the support worker’s life better and to constantly improve the client service delivered.
